Assistant Volunteer Coordinator

Volunteer Assistant Development Director

We are looking for an Assistant Volunteer Coordinator: You will assist in the management of all elements of volunteering within The Heart of the Earth. The role involves assessing and meeting our organization’s needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers. This will require you to sometimes be on site in the absence of the Volunteer Coordinator.
We are looking for Foster Fur Parents to help us care for our animals. Vetting and Food will be covered by the rescue. Please read the application completely before filling it it out and sending it back. We have strict guidelines.
Your role would be to assist the Development Director in developing and implementing strategic plans to raise vital funds for our organization in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. You will assist in establishing Fundraisers and implementation of other fundraising strategies. You may be called on to help with writing grants, research foundations and corporations and will assistance in assessing and meeting our organization’s needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of a Fundraising committee.

Volunteer Rescue Coordinator 

Volunteer Job Description: Our Rescue Coordinators provide an extremely valuable service in the rescue of animals. The Heart of the Earth Sanctuary and Rescue, Inc considers its Rescue Coordinators to be essential to the welfare and proper placement of its rescue animals
Volunteer Job Description:
Manage rescues in our target areas.
Manage all aspects of identifying and rescuing animal: Work with Foster Coordinator to screen Foster Families and arrange foster care, screen potential adopters, place animals in permanent homes, and provide follow-up to new owners. They will also provide education to new and potential owners, and support to HOTE rescue partners to arrange transport of target animals. Screen potential adopters, perform or arrange Home Checks, and provide breed information, in accordance with established procedures. Place rescue animals only in approved HOTE Foster Families or pre-approved permanent homes and provide follow-up. Gather all documents pertaining to all animals in HOTE rescue program, including: release forms, health records, vet reports, expenses, adoption interview records, etc. Submit documentation to the Admin for safekeeping and storage. Gather all documents pertaining to the assignment of duties to volunteers, such as Foster Home Agreement, transporters, home checkers, and any other volunteer working for the RC. All Expense Reports shall be forwarded to the RD for review and approval. Sign RC agreement
Core Competencies: Proficiency in: organizing, working independently, collaborating, and interpreting instructions, prioritizing, working cooperatively, resourcing, communicating with others and working in an expedient manner in handling incoming rescues.


Rescue Coord
If you are interested in being a Care Taker volunteer which involves cleaning, socializing the animals, scooping boxes, medicating, moping etc. Please fill out the application below.
The Green Team is the team that keeps our rescue “green.” We are always open to new environmentally sound ideas. We also need folks who like to plant, dig and are interested in sprucing up the outside of the rescue, and to help up create an outdoor safe haven for the dogs and cats.
